Or It Doesn't Sound Much Like Music To Me
Wed 8th (Gala Night) Tues 14th Wed 15th Fri 17th Sat 18th December 2004
So you think you know what happened in Austria? How easily you were lulled into a false sense of security by the images of happy skipping nuns and rosy cheeked children portrayed by Hollywood. Well cover your ears as you are surrounded by the sound of shattered illusions and broken dreams, because The Blag it! Theatre Company are here to bring you the truth behind the charade.
Maria was always depicted as a 'problem' nun, but the depths to which she has sunk can only truly be revealed here today. Late night drinking sessions, gambling debts and unspeakable acts with lonely goatherds all conspire to leave The Abbess with no choice but to send her to The Hills Priory rehab clinic.
But be warned, the Priory is not all that it appears. The array of optics, beer kegs and a tidy profit in the till, all lead us to believe that it is not only holy spirits that are worshipped here.
To reveal too much more would be unseemly. Whilst I am sure you are reeling from the secrets already revealed, as the cast are still unable to fathom the plot it would be inappropriate that the audience be given an upper hand.
Needless to say, dysfunctional children, a manic Countess, a hapless Count with a vampire fixation and a Buttons who seems to be in completely the wrong play all add to the mayhem which is known as The Talking Heads Christmas Show.
So relax, sit back, and numb your senses of taste & decency for...

"I was invited along to the opening of the Blag it Theatre Company's Christmas Show. It was being performed in the back room of a pub in Portswood Southampton. On first entering the Talking Heads, fear and trepidation spread over me as on first impressions the place ain't all that and a bag of potato chips! But I settled myself with a pint of Guinness and prepared myself to be entertained. The lights went down, the music came up and a parade of nuns entered the room and filed down the aisle and on to the stage. I knew it was going to be a good show as soon as the Mother Superior tore of her habit to reveal a PVC mini habit with 12in heels fronted by six inch platformed leather thigh length boots. The play was hilarious, camp, corny and rather suggestive. I shall be looking out for future productions by the Blag it Theatre Company and a special thanks to Vera for the invite. Do break a leg dear, No...really..."
